About Space Race Records

Space Race Records started out in 1993 (roughly, my memory gets real sketchy around that time) as a small independent label focusing mainly on vinyl singles.

Space Race came about mainly as an avenue to release music by my own band (Aliens & Strangers) but after successfully releasing two limited edition singles for us I decided that I should branch out. The third release was for "The Short Fuses" (killer rock band featuring Travis Ramin, Georgia Peach and Rock Bottom) and I quickly followed that up with a single by PA rock legends "Wiseguys"

Sadly the rising price of vinyl and various other factors led me to close up shop after only those 4 releases.

Fast forward to 2007 and the boom of digital releases. Realizing that I rarely purchased anything but digital music anymore and seeing an increase in killer bands I decided to resurrect Space Race as a digital only label.

All releases are available in "almost" any digital store and the best part is that independents such as myself are now able to compete with majors with the same level of distribution.

Space Race focuses primarily on garage, surf and pop punk music.
